How hard will this class be?

The class will be available on three different levels, depending on your background and how much time you are prepared to spend. The lectures will be the same for all but you can decide on what level you want to work:

Audit (Personal Enrichment)
  • Because this is not for credit, there are no requirements. You may watch any of the videos and even complete the written assignments if you would like. Unfortunately, we will not be able to grade papers for audit level students, but you can be involved as much as you would like in the other elements of the class.
  • There is no cost, but if you would to make a donation, that would allow us to pay for the expenses of offering the course. We would also like to use your donations to buy resources for students in developing countries who are not able to purchase quality resources.

Masters (ThM Level)
  • You will be required to watch all lectures and complete the smaller assignments professors give for each lecture (usually reading under 30 pages or writing a 1-2 page essay).
  • You will be required to read 600-900 pages from our suggested list or other books that we approve upon request.
  • You will write a 5-10 page paper (double-spaced) on a book theology or biblical theological topic.

Doctoral
  • As with the Masters, you will be required to watch all lectures and complete all assigned for individual lectures (usually reading under 30 pages or writing a 1-2 page essay). Professors also have the prerogative of giving more challenging assignments specifically for doctoral students.
  • You will be required to read 1,000-1,200 pages from our suggested list or other books we have approved.
  • You will write a 20-25 page paper (double-spaced Turabian) on a book theology or a biblical theological topic.

What is the class schedule?

Because this class is available online, we have received interest from students around the world. While all lectures can be watched later, we would like to include as many as possible in the live streaming. Therefore, classes are offered each Monday and Thursday at 8 AM, Eastern Standard Time (US) and 8 PM, Singapore Standard Time.

What does it cost?

If you chose to take the class as audit, you are free to watch the videos, participate and even complete the projects, but we will not be able to grade your assignments. For audit status, the class is completely free, but if you are willing to make a donation it would certainly help our efforts in this project.

To take the class for credit, we would ask a donation of USD 50 or $10 for  developing countries. If finances is a reason not to take this course, please let us know.

To be clear, we are offering this class purely as a ministry. Any payments will be used to cover our web and technology expenses, invest in future classes, or make textbooks available for pastors in developing countries who would struggle with these purchases.

Classes for credit? Where do I get credit?

We are not currently a school and do not offer credit ourselves. However, we are working with existing schools to get recognition to transfer credits in. Currently you can transfer this course for credit towards a degree at:
  • Bob Jones Memorial Bible College in Manila, Philippines.
  • Ebenezer Bible Institute and Seminary, Hermosillo, Mexico.

We will continue to add to this list as others join. If you would like your school to be on this list, please contact both us and your school administration and we'll see what we can do!

Can my school use this class in our curriculum?

Because we are not a school ourselves, we are happy to offer this course for use in another curriculum. If you want to offer this class as part of your program, feel free — we will gladly send you the grades and other records for your students and work with you to make this a workable proposition. Just let us know how we help.

What is the textbook?

We will use a number of difference resources during the course. If getting these books is a struggle we will be able to legally make available quite a few excerpts of different books electronically. You should also use books from any theological libraries you have access to. We will be sending a list of books you can use for the course and you can also request permission to count other books towards your required reading. So even if access or funds are limited, it will not be a barrier to your completing the course.
